Wedding bells were ringing for Bre and Malik on a beautiful day in Scottsdale, Arizona! I was completely obsessed with these two from the start. Bre and Malik are two sweethearts who had been dreaming of an intimate desert wedding under the Arizona skies ever since they fell in love. Venue? Check! Wedding date? Check! All that was left was achieving their #1 wedding day goal — to spend as much quality time with one another and their closest friends and family as possible. Don’t get me wrong we LOVE shooting large, whimsical, and over-the-top weddings, but there is a special place in our hearts for intimate wedding days. Bre and Malik were searching for simplicity, a day that allowed them to pour love into one another and their guests.
To keep things intimate, Bre and Malik held their wedding at the Andaz Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. This beautiful venue was perfect for them and their guests! They kept floral and decor to a minimum and allowed their love to be the focal point of the wedding day, incorporating personal photos all across the space.
First Look & Private Vows
Guests arrived for what ended up being the most dreamy wedding ceremony ever. Their adorable pup was the STAR of the show as he strutted down the aisle, and of course there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Something the guests didn’t get to see (and I am totally bragging here because I was able to witness it firsthand) was the tender moment Bre and Malik shared before they walked down the aisle: their first look. After spending the morning getting ready with their wedding party Bre and Malik headed out to the garden for this private moment. Bre looked absolutely beautiful, and clearly Malik thought so too! When his tears started falling during their first look I couldn’t help but feel SO grateful I got to capture this special memory for them.
The overall vibe of their intimate desert wedding made so much sense for them and their relationship. Bre and Malik share a delicate love story, one that is easygoing and real. I hope that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy and soak in love like theirs one day because I truly believe that is what makes this world a better place!! Seeing the way they smiled and looked into one another’s eyes filled my heart with so much joy! I loved the way their intimate desert wedding day didn’t keep them from incorporating the traditions most important to them, one of which was sharing private vows together. And let me tell you, I was thiiisssss close to absolutely losing it because of how perfect their vows were! The vow exchange was definitely one of my favorite moments, but I also loved their adorable cake cutting at the end of dinner. It was the perfect way to end the evening!
Their Intimate Celebration
I am SO lucky to have the opportunity to capture these moments for newlyweds. The first look, the vows shared, first dances, and more are all defining moments of a wedding day. I am still pinching myself over the way Bre and Malik beamed under the string lights and shared their first dance and toasts with their favorite people. Dinner was intimate and sooooo delicious! The candlelight was romantic and the entire dinner felt warm and welcoming. Everyone sat at one long community table that was filled with sweet peach roses and warm terracotta, decorated with amber votives and gold-rimmed chargers. This reception table was equally romantic AND beautiful!
