Welcome to New York! A city full of surprises, and in our case… a city that will flip your plans upside down. Luckily for us, we were able to turn our crazy stressful week into something soooo amazing – this Central Park bridal session! We spent the morning in Central Park with the sweetest couple ever, Kat and Mike.
We had grand plans for our trip to New York, but soon everything took a turn and our original plans for the day fell through. We were lucky enough to have had Kat and Mike show up as if right on cue. These newlyweds joined us just a few weeks after their wedding and were kind enough to give us some of their time to create something beautiful together. Not only were they gracious with their time, but they also brought us snacks and gave us all a Starbucks gift card… like, what?!? These two were the best!
Kat and Mike’s kindness was infectious and they deserve the absolute WORLD. The opportunity to connect and spend time with them is something we do not take for granted. It turned our week around! If you’re someone who loves to plan ahead like me, then you KNOW how it feels when your schedule gets thrown off a bit. We’ve learned that going with the flow is sometimes the way to do it! This was one of those times, we had so much fun this morning and could not stop smiling, laughing, and soaking in every moment.
As I mentioned, Kat and Mike had just said their I Do’s a few weeks prior to meeting up with us in Central Park so their newlywed bliss and love were sooo totally there. They just wanted to have fun, celebrate, pop the bubbly, and enjoy each other’s company! Kat and Mike were super untraditional. I absolutely loved Kat’s short dress and veil moment. It was to dieeee for!! You can quote me on this… between Kat and Kourtney Kardashian’s recent short dress and veil moment, you can count on this being the IT trend in wedding attire in 2023, I’m serious! Kat and Mike rocked shades that brought an extra level of cool to the shoot as they strutted around the park. Even though it was early, Kat and Mike had infectious energy. Everything about them was just a whole MOOD. I was obsessed with them if you can’t tell… plus, they had matching necklaces with their last name on them (crying!)
As we wrapped up the session, Kat and Mike broke out the bubbly and CELEBRATED!!! They each popped a bottle and Mike shook his, spraying a celebratory shower over the park while Kat took a moment to take a sip right from the bottle — you go, girl!! We sealed the shoot with one last kiss and called it a day. If you’re wanting to experience a Central Park bridal session in all its glory I highly recommend going in the early morning. The soft morning light was absolutely stunning. As a sweet little bonus, we just so happened to be there in the spring, and let me tell you, there is something sooo special about the smell of a spring morning in New York. The crisp morning air filled us with excitement and carried us through the session.
I must admit we’re so thankful that the plans for this trip fell through so we could experience this Central Park bridal session with Kat and Mike. We’ve had the BEST time looking back at these images and reflecting on how such a stressful trip turned out to be one of our absolute favorites.
