This styled New Mexico elopement was PERFECT! The color palette, the theme, the location, the couple… heart eyes aaaallll around. I would like to dive right back in, please! We couldn’t be more obsessed with the southwestern-style theme, we loved photographing every little detail and our incredibly cute couple so much that it didn’t even feel like we were working! I’m convinced we have the coolest, most fun job in the world.
The second we stepped foot in The Desert Compass in Old Town Albuquerque we knew it was going to be a good day. Warm terracotta tiles matched the gorgeous silk linen that was draped delicately on the styled sweetheart table. Beautiful turquoise details accented the natural western feel of the space, and unique florals were placed around the room capturing the essence of this southwestern style. Speaking of floral… let’s take a moment to drool over that super fun air plant that totally stole the show! The Desert Compass was the perfect location due to all of its incredibly unique details. From beautiful stucco walls to intricate antique mirrors there were a TON of elements to play off of. We had a blast! And, it helps that we had an amazing couple to model for us.
Ready for a unique twist? Instead of getting ready privately these adorable love birds chose to get dressed together and help each other get ready for the day. This resulted in some of the sweetest and most beautifully intimate photos. Elopements are the BEST for this very reason. Seriously, we love them so much because you get to choose what to do and include the things that will make you happy. Break traditions, start new ones! Do whatever defines your love. For Tori and TJ their love was delicate and sweet but also had a wild side. The design of this shoot emphasized their love story and created the perfect setting for our styled New Mexico elopement at The Desert Compass.
Alright now… we have to chat about the details because ugh they were SO good. Like, some of my favorite details we’ve ever photographed — which says a lot! Everything here was thought through perfectly. The turquoise jewelry, and the southwest flair that tied into everything, it was my dream styled shoot. Plus, the ceremony arch our couple stood at that was draped with a hanging floral curtain… insane.
The team who worked together to pull this incredible styled New Mexico elopement to life deserves a MAJOR shoutout. Of course, our amazing venue hosts at The Desert Compass made us feel right at home, and it was so much fun planning all the details through our second company that hosts styled shoots — Cactus and Pine Co. We knew we had to work with the one and only Lily and Juniper for floral, and they tooootally brought the vision to life! Everyone understood the assignment. We just LOVE working with other industry professionals to bring something magical to life — it’s so special. I know we say that a lot but seriously!! We love what we do and who we have the opportunity to work with. Every day is a surprise and that is such a gift.
To soak in the last few moments of deliciousness from this day we brought our couple outside for some stunning golden hour shots. I’ll say it again, from top to bottom this shoot could not have been better. Enjoy!
