You’ve got the ring, you’ve decided on the date, now it’s time to figure out the rest! Planning the ultimate Arizona elopement isn’t as complex as it may seem, especially if you’re ready to get creative. But, we toootally get it if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and confused about how and where to start. That’s why we’re here to help! We’ve had the pleasure of watching so many beautiful elopements take place right here in Arizona and have developed the ultimate guide to planning an Arizona elopement – just for you.
First things first you’ll need a license to get married! This is the case anywhere in the United States but the rules are different depending on where you are. Luckily, obtaining a marriage license in Arizona is suuuuper simple. For starters, both parties need to be present and of the legal age to marry (18). Next, you both will need to present your social security numbers and a valid government-issued photo I.D. After that, it’s a pretty quick process. At the end of it all, you’ll need to save for about $83 (make sure you include this in your wedding budget!) and this can be paid in cash, card, or money order. After that, it’s just a waiting game until the big day!
Alright, what’s the vision? Desert vibes? Forest magic? Romantic red rocks? Or one of the many National Parks? The cool thing about choosing an Arizona elopement is we have it ALL so you truly have endless options here! But, sometimes multiple options make decision-making difficult. It’s important to keep a few details in mind when scouting for the perfect elopement location.
If you’re booking with us though, we’ve done all the nitty-gritty research for you! For all of our clients, we send over special locations that are often less trafficked but just as epic. We’re going to become your go-to guide to all things AZ elopements. We have soo many special, secret spots that are amazing to visit and we will let you know which one’s we suggest based on your vision! But, you can also check out our blog on “Where To Elope in Arizona” for more ideas.
Now, let’s talk about peak months. No one wants to be absolutely freezing or sweating their butts off during their wedding day! If you’re wanting to get married in the desert we suggest anywhere from October to April. For lush, green forest weddings April through July will be ideal! And for places up north such as Page and Sedona you’ll want to look into eloping in the Spring or Fall – these locations can get quite cold in the winter believe it or not! If you’re still unsure go ahead and shoot us a message, we’ve seen so many locations at various times of the year and would love to give you our expert opinion.
We know, deciding on a budget isn’t the fun part of wedding planning but it is suuuper super necessary! If you’re inviting guests or traveling from out of state you’ll want to talk through how much you’re willing to spend. The great thing about elopements is that they can be as extravagant or simple as you’d like! We’ve seen elopements range from $5,000- $35,000. It truly just depends on what you’re doing. If you’re hiring a private chef, renting out a stunning AirBnB, or going on an excursion you’ll probably be at the high end of elopement costs. But, if you’re keeping it simple with the two of you, you can expect to spend less. The options are endless, as we’ve mentioned, but one thing we always recommend is staying true to yourselves! Whether you love hiking or mountain biking, finding the best food, or going for a more luxury-style experience, you can find a way to include these hobbies into your wedding day and still stay within your budget!
Now, we may be biased but this is SUCH an important part of elopement planning! When you’re looking for a photographer and videographer we want you to make sure you not only LOVE their editing styles but also love them. Finding a photographer and videographer who meshes with your vibe is crucial. You’re going to be spending most of your time on your wedding day with them so make sure you get along well. Helpful tip: ask to see full galleries, go out to dinner or video chat with them, and make sure it’s overall a good fit.
Now that you have the tools it’s time to start planning! Your Arizona elopement is going to be epic and we would LOVE to be a part of that day. Want to chat? Send us a message and let’s discuss your elopement goals.
