Rachel and JT’s elopement in Sedona was truly something special. They traveled all the way from Texas, and knew they wanted a simple, intimate celebration of their love. And what made their day even sweeter was their adorable daughter being there, along with Rachel’s parents, to witness the ceremony.
The day began in the most personal way possible: Rachel and JT got ready together at their Airbnb, a stunning white house nestled near Oak Creek. There’s something incredibly touching about couples sharing these pre-ceremony moments, and JT couldn’t hold back his emotions when he helped zip Rachel’s dress. His teary-eyed reaction was a beautiful reminder of the love and connection they share.
After getting ready, we all headed to their ceremony spot in Sedona, where they exchanged vows in a heartfelt, simple ceremony. After the ceremony, they cut a small cake and popped some champagne, their daughter joining in the celebration. It was such a sweet family moment!
Once the ceremony was over and marriage license was signed, Rachel’s parents took their daughter, and it was time for Rachel and JT to enjoy some private moments accompanied by me and Steven, your favorite third wheels! We headed to a new location for their elopement photos, but we were a bit worried about the weather. It had been cloudy and windy, and the forecast called for rain. As luck would have it, the rain started while we were driving to the next spot, but then it stopped just as we arrived! A stranger even gave them an umbrella, which added a sweet touch to their walk!
And then, something magical happened. As the clouds began to clear, a stunning rainbow appeared, painting the sky with shades of pink and purple. Rachel, barefoot and carefree, ran around having such a fun time. It was one of those moments you can’t plan but will remember forever. The two shared a quiet first dance, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Sedona, while the sky put on a show just for them. Straight from a movie scene let me tell you!
We wrapped up the day by pulling out some lanterns for their final portraits, adding a warm glow to their intimate time together. The whole elopement was simple, yet so full of love and magic—from their sweet family moments to the unforgettable rainbow. Rachel and JT’s day was proof that sometimes, the most beautiful weddings are the ones that focus on the connection between the couple and the raw, unfiltered beauty of nature.
Two of my absolute favorite moments from Rachel and JT’s elopement were how they got ready together—it was such an intimate and special part of their day—and that incredible rainbow! It was like nature itself was celebrating with them, and it added a magical touch that I’ll never forget.
