We spent an afternoon running around the moody PNW with the oh-so-adorable Chloe and Hunter. Hanging out with these two was a huge plus to our incredible mentorship session with Henry Tieu. It was a thrilling and educational experience that we are SO proud to share this Washington couples session with all of you!
Meet The Couple
For starters, I am obsessed with Chloe and Hunter. They are so in love, and their energy is infectious. These lovebirds were a blast to be around for this shoot; they were so giddy about their upcoming wedding! It was adorable. We spent the day talking about their dreamy elopement plans, gushing over how exciting the engagement period can be, and how special their love is.
We adore having the opportunity to be with couples right before their wedding. Capturing the essence of their love at this moment in time is incredible, and we are so thankful to be playing a small part in their love story. As the day gets closer, the love and excitement gets stronger! Leading up to a couples wedding day is an added level of magic. We are so lucky to be able to capture it!
Learning From Henry Tieu
Okay, I’m going to have a fan-girl moment real quick. Because working with and learning from Henry Tieu was a dream!! We are always trying to learn and better our craft to provide our couples with an even better experience. Spending this time with Henry allowed us to dive deeper into our art and explore new photography styles. Our goal is to provide each client we encounter with a memorable experience where they receive high-quality content.
As a creative, it is important to work with other individuals in your field and learn from them. Ask questions and learn to see your art through their eyes. Who knows, you may find a new design or style you’re obsessed with!! Constantly learning and growing is how we continue to pour our all into our photography and it’s what strikes the fire within us to keep going through the challenges.
Getting Creative With Umbrellas And Lanterns
For this Washington couples shoot, we were aiming for a moody PNW vibe… we totally got it!! The weather could not have been better. The low-hanging clouds, the deep grey tones, and the tall pine trees deepened the darkness of the day and came together beautifully. Chloe’s black dress looked stunning against the moody setting–she totally nailed her look for this shoot!
We had the best time wandering around Gold Creek Pond in Snoqualmie Pass in Cle Elum and finding the perfect location to capture the moody PNW vibe. In typical PNW fashion, it began to rain at one point, so we pulled some clear umbrellas and got creative!! One of my favorite parts of this shoot was that we were challenged to shoot with something new: lanterns! We pulled them out as it got darker, and ohhh my gosh, the beauty. The lanterns added an extra layer of warmth and beauty to the images and perfectly completed the vision for this moody Washington couples shoot.
Working in the PNW was seriously the BEST. This entire day was a dream come true for us! We were living our best life in this location, with this couple, and with Henry Tieu. The PNW is inspiring and offers many backdrops suited for various styles, vibes, and sessions. Spending the day running around the lake, watching the clouds rolling over the tall trees, and laughing was so good for the soul. It was an incredible day, and we are so proud of how these images turned out. We can’t wait to move out to Washington and shoot some more moody couples sessions!!
