Okay, we LOVE this adorable couple so freakin’ much! Would you believe me if I told you we’ve been talking to them for over a YEAR already?! Baylee and Tom booked us for their woodsy engagement session before Tom even popped the question. I mean, if that’s not the BIGGEST compliment ever I don’t know what is! These two stole our hearts from the start.
Lucky us, because we’ve been communicating for so long we’ve gotten to know Baylee and Tom SO well. Forming strong relationships with our clients is rewarding and means the world to us, but these two are something special. I swear they are our twins! Literally, Tom is SO similar to Steven and I think Baylee and I may be long-lost sisters, haha.
The vision for their cozy, woodsy engagement session was in the works for months. I had been looking forward to this day for so long because of how much time we spent planning out all the details! Baylee and Tom wanted their engagement session to mimic a romantic picnic that felt effortless with a dash of editorial vibes.
We selected outfits, determined the overall aesthetic, and sent inspo photos back and forth a million times. I mean, with that much dedication how could this session not be iconic? Well, I’ll tell you one way… rain. Prior to their session, it had been coming down hard. We really had no clue what to expect! Either way, we were determined to capture some incredible shots. Luckily, the skies cleared and we ended up having the most beautiful day up north, tucked away in a private spot we found in Flagstaff, Arizona.
During this woodsy engagement session we were able to really dive into our creative minds. It was the best part of the day! We brought in a full-length mirror to play around with as we tested out some funky and unique poses. Honestly, I loved them!! They were fun and completely unexpected for engagement session photos. We spent the day laughing and capturing Baylee and Tom’s love on digital and even film. The film shots turned out exactly as we’d envisioned, we were so glad we brought our film camera with us.
I think my favorite part of the entire shoot was when the sun set and the sky lit up with a romantic rose-gold glow. I’m not kidding, this had to be one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen in Arizona, and I’ve seen a countless amount. The stars totally aligned on this day! Baylee had chosen a gorgeous pink dress for their golden hour portion of the shoot, and she matched so perfectly with the sky. It was soooo beyond dreamy.
Both Baylee and Tom wore monochrome outfits and were the cutest couple snapping pictures of each other and cuddling on the ivory picnic blanket. The tall grass in the meadow added some fun texture and unique elements to the shots. Overall, this woodsy engagement session in Flagstaff was everything we dreamed of and more. We feel so thankful to work with incredible couples like Baylee and Tom. It is SO easy to capture a natural, true love like theirs!
We couldn’t get enough of shooting with these two, so guess what? We are capturing their NYC elopement in the spring, and friends… we are SOOO stoked. I mean, the chance to go to NYC with a couple as fun as these two? Sign us up! But believe it or not, it gets better. We’re tagging along for a bridal session during their honeymoon in…. Can you guess? ITALY!! We are seriously counting the days over here, we can hardly wait! Baylee and Tom, we’ll see you so soon!
