Want to know what the best part of our job is? Okay to be honest, I don’t think there is ANY way we could specify just one part of our job that we love, but one of our favorites is meeting couples through past clients. Five-star reviews are great, but knowing our clients are raving about their experience with us to their friends and family is such a big reward. It makes us feel extremely loved! That is exactly what happened with Lou and Ian. We actually met them at a wedding we captured back in December, where Ian happened to be the brother of the groom! We instantly connected and knew that when the day came to link up, we had to make it happen, no matter what. It only took a few months for Lou and Ian to give us a call, they were finally engaged!! WOW, we were so over the moon for them and immediately got to planning the perfect Oregon coast engagement session.
Lou and Ian are seriously the dreamiest couple ever and were down for a big adventure! We had a great time hiking to a remote location on the coast where we were surrounded by breathtaking spots. Luckily for us, this remote location was empty and we had it all to ourselves for sunset photos!
During the hike we got to know each other better, the pre-session hike chats are always my favorite thing. We LOVE getting to know our clients and understanding what makes them who they are, it feels as though we can capture their stories better because of it. Lou and Ian had been together for over eight years and are high school sweethearts who have grown up together… major heart eyes! You could tell from the way they interacted with each other that their love was pure and timeless.
Once we reached our shoot location the excitement kicked in; Lou and Ian were instant pros. I mean, Lou was totally giving us that off-duty model coolness while Ian kept us all laughing. We spent a ton of time adventuring around the cliffsides, exploring this beautiful location, and sneaking some cute pics along the way! I always encourage my couples to have a few outfits for different portions of the shoot, and I LOVE what Lou and Ian wore. I don’t know if it was intentional or not but they basically swapped outfit vibes! For the first part of the shoot, Ian sported a red button-up while Lou kept it casual in a white tank top and denim. Then, when the sun started to hide behind the cliffsides Lou stepped out in a stunning red dress while Ian dressed down into a linen button-up. Iconic, if you ask me!
Capturing this chapter of Lou and Ian’s relationship was so much fun. Although the location was a bit of a challenge to get to, that was part of the fun! Creating memories with our couples is a big part of what makes our jobs so special and we wouldn’t trade that for anything. Dancing on cliffsides and frolicking through the fields made this Oregon coast engagement session one we will never forget. The Oregon coast is a stunning place for lovers to capture their engagement sessions and we’re always down when our couples want to make the trek!
