We have an AMAZING story for you. Are you ready for it? I was sooo freakin excited for this session with Andrew and Tiffany because they had JUST gotten engaged the day before we met up!! Andrew surprised Tiffany with a trip to Sedona where he popped the question. He and I had been secretly scheming for months trying to figure out the perfect plan for their Sedona engagement session. We went back and forth discussing ideas for locations, time of day, and more when he told me how much they love the outdoors. They spend a TON of time exploring, hiking, and backpacking across the country together which is why he decided to propose at Cathedral Rock at sunrise – safe to say, the proposal was a success!
Get To Know Our Couple
Andrew and Tiffany are explorers at heart. They live in LA with their two dogs but traveled all the way to Sedona to get engaged. Tiffany, of course, thought they were just going on a fun trip but was in for quite the surprise! After Andrew proposed, we set out to the red rocks early in the morning. Luckily, these two didn’t let the early wake-up call get in the way of their fun! The newly-engaged lovers were filled with joy and had so much fun running around the red rocks as we captured some iconic photos. The freshness of their engagement made this session all the more exciting. Andrew and Tiffany were still basking in the overflowing amount of joy that comes with calling each other “fiancé”, and the smiles on their faces showed it all. They are so in love!
Portraits on Merry Go Round Rock
If you’ve been following us for a long time you know how much we adore the red rocks. They are SO beautiful, but also come with some challenges including rough terrain and tricky hikes. Andrew and Tiffany are super adventurous however, so we knew they would be down for the challenge that is Merry Go Round Rock. This is one of my absolute FAVORITE spots in Sedona, although it’s is for sureee one of the more difficult spots to get to. Reaching Merry Go Round Rock means off-roading and rock climbing, but lucky for us Andrew and Tiffany were ready to get their hands dirty! We picked them up in our 4runner when it was still dark out. Being up before the sun always marks the perfect start to a sunrise Sedona engagement session! By the time we made it to the top of Merry Go Round Rock, the sunrise was starting to peak through making for one absolutely stunning setting.
Surprise engagement sessions are always fun for us because we love getting to know the partner who is being proposed to! I had lots of chats with Andrew so I knew Tiffany was the absolute sweetest, and I also knew she’d be shocked to learn they’d be heading out for engagement photos the very next morning! Tiffany had no idea she was getting engaged, so obviously she wasn’t expecting this session. Did that make us a liiiiiittle bit nervous? Yes, haha but we soon saw how excited Tiffany was for their session, although she was a little nervous about not having an outfit! Lucky for her, Andrew had thought through it all and came prepared. He wanted to keep the proposal a surprise, so after popping the question he took her shopping to pick out her dream outfit. I LOVE what she ended up choosing, the dress was gorgeous and fit the aesthetic perfectly!
I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to get to know these two and capture their Sedona engagement session as they soaked in that newly engaged feeling. Engagement sessions are always a ton of fun and when they’re a surprise it makes for an even more adventurous day! Andrew and Tiffany are two absolute beautiful humans. I’ll be obsessing over this session for a while, but in the meantime let us know if you’d be down for the challenge that is Merry Go Round Rock after seeing these photos… we would LOVE to take you there!
