Alright, you know how they say a smile can light up a room? Well, Gabi and Shanna’s smiles can light up all of New York! These two have infectious joy and we had an absolute BLAST working together during this couples session on Roosevelt Island. Upon first glance you could tell how in love and obsessed with each other they are, but once you get to know them it is even more clear that they are two absolutely incredible people. Gabi and Shanna couldn’t stop laughing together and were all smiles behind the camera. Seeing them so happy made us SO happy!! UGH, it was the best day EVER!!
Where Their Love Story Began
Gabi and Shanna met 7 years ago at a bar during PRIDE. They spent the night talking and getting to know each other and then followed each other on Instagram. It took them 6 more months before they actually started dating! But, the time they spent getting to know each other and leaning slowly into their relationship was so worth it. Now, Gabi and Shanna live in the cutest little apartment together and spend their time off traveling the world! I had to stalk them on Insta and let me tell you, I have LOVED following these two on their adventures and seeing where their love takes them!!
Okay, these two have to be hands-down one of the most adorable couples we’ve ever met. Not only were their smiles infectious but they just had so much FUN together during this shoot. The laughter was non-stop and they were down to do literally anything. Gabi and Shanna danced around in the park, gave each other piggyback rides, and shared endless snuggles as they enjoyed every moment. Plus, these two also happen to have such amaziingggg styles that compliment each other so well — it resulted in some gorgeous shots from an aesthetic point of view. From start to finish this shoot was one to remember!
Springtime in New York
One of the big reasons why this couples session on Roosevelt Island was different from any other session we’ve done before was because we had some crazy weird weather! It was peak springtime in New York which meant plenty of winds and rain, but it also meant the cherry blossoms were in full bloom! It was breathtaking, seriously one of the most insanely beautiful things I have ever seen! The sun came out briefly allowing us to snap a few pics with the golden light, but then came the storm. We could see the dark clouds peeking over the cityscape but that didn’t scare us. They gave off the perfect moody vibes and we were able to wrap the shoot right before it started to POUR down rain. Gabi and Shanna blew us some cherry blossom petal kisses and we called it a day!
Falling in love is such a magical thing and I truly hope that everyone is able to experience a love like Gabi and Shanna’s in their life. It is so raw and real, infectious and magical, and absolutely unconditional. No matter what Gabi and Shanna go through their endless admiration for one another will carry them through! I admire their passion for fiercely loving one another and their ability to pass that love along to everyone they meet. I look forward to following along on their journey over on Instagram, and hope that one day we reunite for another epic shoot like this one!
