There is something magical about the Arizona sunset over a beautiful wedding day that fills our hearts with more love than we could ever imagine. Laura and Jake’s dreamy Tucson wedding took place in Jake’s mother’s backyard – the epitome of Arizona desert perfection! Cacti lining the yard, iconic red sands, and lots of space to celebrate. Perfection!! It was one of the most gorgeous Arizona desert settings we’ve ever seen, plus, AZ was toooootally showing off with an incredible sunset! It was an ideal location for Laura and Jake’s Tucson wedding.
Our bride and groom are two family-oriented individuals who love each other and their families so deeply. This wedding day was a destination for Laura and Jake as well as a majority of family and friends as well. Laura and Jake currently live in California but knew they wanted their wedding to have personal connections to family – hence why they chose Jakes’ moms backyard! I love that they wanted this day to be special and shared with all their favorite people. The space accommodated so many of them thanks to the unique horseshoe-shaped reception table. Our lovers decided on this shape because they wanted everyone to feel included. Even though Laura and Jake were of course the main focus of the day, they wanted their family and friends to feel equally as important! So sweet.
We gushed over the love that was flowing on this day but something we couldn’t get enough of was the design and decor! Cloth and Flame weddings are ALWAYS events to remember, and it’s easy to see why. The unique horseshoe shape was so much fun and I love how it wove through the desert allowing every natural touch of nature to add to the design. To soften the environment a bit, Laura and Jake incorporated rugs at their ceremony site, terra-cotta colors, and string lights to elevate the ambiance. The energy was high with good food and a great live band, and we just loved how the whole vibe was so lively!!
Even though we didn’t get the chance to meet Laura and Jake until their wedding day, we had spent sooo much time talking to each other that it felt like we had known each other for YEARS. This relationship made their wedding day feel even more special for us. One of my favorite things Laura told us was via email. She wrote “we started as coworkers who finally started dating a few years ago and haven’t looked back! We figured that if we can survive a pandemic and quarantine together we can make it through anything!” We couldn’t agree more! So many of our couples decided to commit to forever after spending time in quarantine together. It was a true testament to their love and a great way to challenge their relationship. We are so happy these two found one another!
It was clear through every detail of their wedding day that family was #1 for Laura and Jake. A detail that made me emotional was the way they paid tribute to Jake’s late father. They incorporated a quote he used to say onto matchboxes and cigars they shared together. This sentimental detail made it feel like he was right there with them. The reception was filled with fun dancing and heartfelt toasts – seriously, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!! To top off the family tributes, Laura and Jake posed to re-create Laura’s grandparent’s wedding photo. I think they nailed it and it turned out soooo cute. Plus, look how amazing they are side-by-side!
We couldn’t get enough of this family-infused Tucson wedding! The love that was shared was infectious and we know it is going to be a love that lasts a lifetime. We are SO happy for you, Laura and Jake, and wish you two a lifetime of love and happiness – always.
