Cinthya and James you two are too CUTE!! Just days away from their big day, Cinthya and James squeezed us into their busy wedding week schedule and we were able to meet up with them in New York City. I was sooo happy we got the chance to adventure to NYC and capture these special photos for their Brooklyn Bridge bridal session!
I can still feel the giddiness, nervousness, and excitement that flooded the week before Steven and I got married. I was feeling all sorts of sentimental capturing another couple at such a special time in their relationship. There are so many emotions that come along with getting married and it can be overwhelming! If you find yourself stressing the week of your wedding, schedule a date with your partner. I promise – it’ll make the worry wash away for just a moment! Remember, the week leading up to your wedding is meant to be enjoyed, and should be fun. You deserve it!! The planning is done and now it’s time to party!
In my eyes, Cinthya and James’ session was one of a kind. The fact that we were able to pull them away from the wedding week frenzy to dive back into their love story for a moment was so special! It solidified their decision to say yes to one another in just a few days and celebrate a forever kind of love.
The setting for this session was simply iconic… the infamous and ever so timeless Brooklyn Bridge! We started the day off at City Hall and slowly made our way to the Brooklyn Bridge, snapping photos all the way, crossing busy crosswalks, dodging taxis, and taking in the essence of New York. I’m convinced that everything lines up perfectly for couple sessions because somehow we managed to time the walk from City Hall to the Brooklyn Bridge perfectly. By the time we got there, the sun was beginning to set leaving us with some dreeeaaammyyyy skyline shots. After the sun dipped behind the buildings of New York City we headed down to the subway for some sensational flash portraits that I couldn’t love more! Before getting into those I have to quickly discuss Cinthya’s outfit…. I was beyond obsessed. She wore the cutest sequin blazer dress, it was chic, flirty and so much fun!
Have you seen those photos of couples on Pinterest that seem too good to be true? Well, add Cinthya and James to that list because they made it so easy to capture the vision we had for their session. Seriously, can we frame them and put them up in the MoMA!? When planning out each subway shot we made sure to time every new setting around the subways. The goal? We were going for that money shot of the subway flying past the two of them creating a super cool blurry backdrop – nailed it! Something I adore about these photos is that Cinthya and James are in-focus; this felt incredibly symbolic of how true love is steady even when everything else around you is moving at lightspeed.
I loved the way Cynthia and James leaned into each other and were present throughout their Brooklyn Bridge bridal session. The Brooklyn Bridge is a SUUUUPER busy spot (but honestly what in New York isn’t?!) so we were surrounded by hundreds of people. It can be intimidating shooting in front of crowds but Cinthya and James were confident and it felt like they were the only two on the bridge.
Whether you’re in the hustle and bustle of New York City or slowing things down in the country, it’s amazing to see how individuals interact when they’re in love. Love can truly make you present and blind to every distraction around you. This Brooklyn Bridge bridal session in the city was a dream and I cannot wait to return for more fun!
