Elopements seriously steal my heart every single time!! For Miesha and Oumar, their intimate elopement at the Grand Canyon was a day full of adventure. Miesha and Oumar traveled all the way across the country to Arizona so they could get married at the Grand Canyon. This was the first time they or any of their family and friends had ever been to this wonder of the world, which made the whole day so memorable! Oumar claims he is terrified of heights but if that’s the truth he hid it SOO well. Seriously, he absolutely killed it during bridals all the way on the cliff sides! I do believe that Miesha’s gorgeous and comforting smile had something to do with how comfortable and easy the bridal session felt.
For Miesha and Oumar their elopement was a day to celebrate with close friends and family. Their love is unmatched and you can tell in the way Oumar looks at Miesha that he is absolutely in love! Seeing our newlyweds and their favorite people experience the Grand Canyon in such a beautiful time of life was incredible and I am so thankful we were able to capture each and every moment for all of them!
I’m just a little bit obsessed with how much Oumar adores Miesha. He was emotional the entire day and couldn’t wait to see her! Intimate elopement ceremonies tend to be super heartfelt and lead to some happy tears; Miesha and Oumar’s ceremony absolutely checked that box! My favorite part was when his mom came to wipe his tears with her dress. It was a strong moment showcasing unconditional love and support. We are so blessed to have captured that moment for them and know it is something they will cherish for a long, long time!!
For a couple who has never been to the Grand Canyon before, they picked one GOOD spot to say “I do”. Shoshone Point was the backdrop to their vows and the views were incredible!! Their friends and family gathered around them as they vowed a life full of love and commitment. After their sweet ceremony, guests were invited to a charming reception under one of the park’s pavilions where they lined tables with adorable floral garlands and coupes full of champagne for the bride and groom’s toast. Lawn games were set out for guests to enjoy and everyone had the best time!
Ready for one of my favorite parts of the reception?! The cupcakes. I was obsessed with the fact that they chose to have cupcakes act as their “wedding cake” instead of a traditional cake! But, I think I was even more obsessed with the story behind why they chose cupcakes. Miesha loves and I mean LOVES cupcakes… Oumar proposed to her with the ring in a cupcake so seriously, can you blame her?! Cupcakes are such an important touch to their relationship and this was the perfect way to tie the memory of their engagement into the big day.
The sun had set beautifully against the red rocks of the Grand Canyon and Miesha and Oumar were absolutely glowing as they danced around the canyon celebrating their marriage. When intimate elopements are full of this much love I can’t help but wish that I could experience one every day! Cheers to you, Miesha and Oumar!
