Kristin and Tyler are great friends of ours, and we were so excited when they asked us to share this special experience with them. After meeting at church, we really hit it off with Kristin and Tyler and have gotten the opportunity to get to know them and their relationship extremely well! After they tied the knot we just kept our fingers crossed hoping they would want to do a bridal session with us, and thankfully, they did!! We knew these photos had to be epic and we were ready to go all out for them! It’s always such a treat when we get to work with our friends, so you bet we were ready when they told us their vision for their Washington coast bridal session.

Kristin and Tyler live in moody, beautiful Washington. Washington has so many amazing locations to choose from, perks of living in the Pacific Northwest! But, this also made the location decision a little difficult. After running through all the gorgeous spots in our minds we ended up at Olympic National Park and it could not have been more perfect. The whole experience was a blast! We drove 8 hours round trip in one day just to shoot at this particular spot, and all the time we put in was completely worth it.

The particular spot in Olympic National Park that we chose for their Washington bridal session was right along the coast.

The incredible rock formations provided some gorgeous backdrops for formal couple portraits while the beach itself allowed Kristin and Tyler to run free and show off the fun side of their relationship! We also couldn’t leave out the towering evergreens along the road, they just are such a Washington staple! The PNW is known for its gloomy days, and we got to experience the perfect moody vibe all day as we trekked through Olympic National Park.

Now let’s take a moment to gush over the sunset… it was perfect!!! I mean seriously, that golden hour glow that peaked through the tall trees and around the edges of the rocks was stunning. In so many of the photos, I just can’t stop drooling over how Kristin and Tyler seemed to be drenched in the most delicious golden ring of light. Their vibe was super laid back which was perfect for this location and the overall environment. It was like we just happened to capture them on a casual beach walk (in their wedding attire…) speaking of what they wore, I love how simple they kept their style. Kristin’s dress was a gorgeous silk gown with a soft silhouette. She kept her hair down and in natural waves and it was so simple and chic! Tyler also kept it chill in a black suit jacket and pants with some casual white sneakers. everything about this location and their style was an absolute dream for their Washington coast bridal session.

Recently we have been getting more and more into using film during our sessions!

So when Kristin emphasized how much she loves film, we knew we had to whip out the camera. We ended up shooting an entire roll of 35mm at their session!! The rolls somehow overlapped (again, we’re just getting into it haha) but it resulted in these really cool light streaks!! We love when happy accidents like this happen.

Being able to spend this time with our good friends and capture such a beautiful moment in their lives was so much fun. the photos are just a peak into the love that Kristin and Tyler share, and just a glimpse at the natural beauty of Washington!
