Young love is such a sweet and special thing. We were so honored to be able to witness the love Maiya and Caleb shared at barely 20 years old! There was so much to admire about these two, they chose to have their wedding in the woods, and get married on their three-year anniversary. So sweet! They were just so obsessed with each other you could feel their love radiating between them.
They wanted to really put their own personal touch on their wedding and decided to DIY many of the details like the benches at the ceremony site, and the altar. Maiya even did all her own florals! Their family rallied behind them and chipped in by creating the charcuterie board for dinner. It honestly all turned out soooo gorgeous, not what you would expect when someone says DIY wedding. It was all just perfect!
It was a great location for them and their closest friends and family. We were obsessed with how intimate the setting was and the moodiness the forest created was so magical!! The romance of the woods was met with the boho ceremony, they had a beautiful white triangle altar and some super fun floral sprays with the oh-so-popular and gorgeous pampas grass! Maiya walked down an aisle of vintage rugs that was lined by plumes of pampas. Talk about a grand entrance! We’re still a little teary-eyed from the way these two look at each other, full of so much love! the smiles on Maiya and Caleb’s faces after they said “I do” were priceless. Seeing two people in love is the greatest feeling!
Maiya put on a super cute hat and leather jacket for the party and the whole family was ready to have a good time. The extra-long and extra delicious charcuterie board had a little something for everyone (and allowed everyone to save a little extra room for the best part.. the cake!) It was fully decked out in floral!! it was like an edible little rose bush, the sweetest!
The celebration sure didn’t stop there. Maiya and Caleb invited us to tag along for a few more important stops. first up? The tattoo parlor!! Maiya and Caleb both have a little bit of an edgy side so it came as no surprise that they wanted to get each other’s first initial tattooed immediately following their reception. They’re the second couple we’ve had do this on their wedding day – we just love the meaning behind it so much! The next time we see tattoos on a wedding day, we may just have to join in on the fun and get one ourselves!
White Sands National Park was a gorgeous location for bridal photos; however, this day was particularly windy! It was absolutely worth it though! Sand may have gone everywhere but these photos are priceless. Major props to the two of them for putting up with all the sand and wind and looking so good while doing so!
Maiya and Caleb’s love story is such a sweet one and we wish them endless love on their lifelong journey to forever!
